संगीत घराने और उनकी विशेषताएं (Received on WA message from Nirav Mehta) हिंदुस्तानी संगीत के प्रमुख घराने : 1. ग्वालियर घराना 2. आगरा घराना 3. किराना घराना 4. बनारस घराना 5. जयपुर-अतरौली घराना 6. रामपुर-सहस्वान घराना 7. पटियाला घराना 8. दिल्ली घराना 9. भिंडी बाज़ार घराना 10. मेवाती घराना ___________ ग्वालियर घराना : ग्वालियर घराना हिंदुस्तानी संगीत का सबसे प्राचीन घराना है। हस्सू खाँ, हद्दू खाँ के दादा उस्ताद नत्थन पीरबख्श को इस घराने का जन्मदाता कहा जाता है। दिल्ली के राजा ने इनको अपने पास बुला लिया था। इनके दो पुत्र थे-कादिर बख्श और पीर बख्श। इनमें कादिर बख्श को ग्वालियर के महाराज दौलत राव जी ने अपने राज्य में नौकर रख लिया था। कादिर बख्श के तीन पुत्र थे जिनके नाम इस प्रकार हैं- हद्दू खाँ, हस्सू खाँ और नत्थू खाँ। ये तीनों भाई मशहूर ख्याल गाने वाले और ग्वालियर राज्य के दरबारी उस्ताद थे। इसी परम्परा के शिष्य बालकृष्ण बुआ इचलकरजीकर थे। इनके शिष्य पं. विष्णु दिगम्बर पलुस्कर थे। पलुस्कर जी के प्रसिद्ध शिष्य ओंकारनाथ ठाकुर, विनायक राव...
Vilayat Khan turns down Padma Vibhushan
Ustad Vilayat Khan has turned down India's second highest civilian award, the Padma Vibushan. He said the award was belated, and therefore "an insult". The Indian government announced the award on the eve of Republic Day, January 26. The ustad was abroad when the announcement was made. On February 6, after he returned to India, he told a press conference in Calcutta that there was "too much politics, favouritism and lobbying" in music. He had earlier told a news agency he would refuse the award for "personal reasons". Vilayat Khan has been performing for the last 67 years. "Six generations of my family have made sitar their religion and today the entire nation is copying our work," he said.
